13 days for perfect acclimatization and Ecuador's highest mountains: Cotopaxi and Chimborazo. Step by step you will be led to the point on earth which is closest to the sun, the summit of Chimborazo. The difficulty of the summits rises steadily, which assures perfect preparation for maximum results. Good fitness and some previous experience are highly recommended for this tour.

starting point & pick up:
Quito

DAY 1:
Arrival in Quito. Transfer to the hotel. Meet and greet your guide in the evening.

DAY 2:
We leave Quito after breakfast and climb PASOCHOA (4.200 m). The hike to the summit takes about 4 hours.

DAY 3:
GUAGUA PICHINCHA (4.794 m) is the next acclimatization peak on our itinerary, going a bit higher this time. We reach the summit after approximately 4 hours.

DAY 4:
CORAZÓN (4.791 m) - one last hike staying below the 5k mark. We hike up to Corazón summit in about 3 to 4 hours and enjoy marvellous views.

DAY 5:
We drive to the Natural Reserve Los Ilinizas. From the parking area we hike up to the Refugio Nuevos Horizontes (3 - 4 hours), where we will spend the night.

DAY 6:
Early wake up and breakfast. Ascent to ILINIZA NORTE (5.126 m). 3 to 4-hour-tour to the summit. Descent to El Chaupi.

DAY 7:
We visit the indigenous markets of Saquisili or Pujili (depending on the day). In the afternoon we drive to Cotopaxi National Park and spend the night in the mountain hut of Tambopaxi.

DAY 8:
In the morning we hike up to the glacier for some technical training. Rest in the afternoon. Early dinner and rest in Tambopaxi.

DAY 9:
Early wake up and breakfast. Ascent to COTOPAXI (5.897 m), which takes about 7 to 8 hours. Descent and drive to Baños de Agua Santa.

DAY 10:
We visit the waterfall Pailón del Diablo and the casa del arbol - half day program. The other half day is for exploring Baños and resting a bit.

DAY 11:
We drive to the Reserva de Producción de Fauna Chimborazo and hike up to the Refugio Whymper at 5.000 m (50 minutes). There we spend the night.

DAY 12:
Early wake up and breakfast. Ascent to CHIMBORAZO (6.310 m) which takes approximately 8 to 9 hours. Descent to Riobamba, where we spend the night.

DAY 13:
Relaxing morning, visit of the markets of Riobamba. Return to Quito and "good bye".
